I am a self-taught artist, originally from Sri Lanka. My primary mediums include acrylic paint and pencil drawings.
My acrylic paintings of the human body are a celebration of presence, vulnerability, and the intricate beauty of our physical selves. Inspired by the endless variation and expressiveness of the figure, I seek to capture not just anatomy, but emotion—each brushstroke a gesture towards the complexity of being alive.
The interplay of light and shadow across skin, muscle, and bone invites the viewer to consider both the universality and individuality of our shapes. I am fascinated by how bodies hold memory and experience, and my work aims to reflect these unseen narratives that dwell beneath the surface.
Ultimately, my paintings invite viewers into a space of empathy and reflection, asking us to recognize ourselves in the forms of others and to honor the shared journey expressed through our bodies.
